微小的太空垃圾碎片數量可能上億
如(ru)果(guo)能(neng)夠(gou)給(gei)地(di)球(qiu)拍(pai)個(ge)全(quan)景(jing)圖(tu)片(pian),並(bing)將(jiang)地(di)球(qiu)空(kong)間(jian)軌(gui)道(dao)上(shang)目(mu)前(qian)能(neng)夠(gou)被(bei)監(jian)測(ce)到(dao)的(de)空(kong)間(jian)碎(sui)片(pian)以(yi)及(ji)失(shi)效(xiao)衛(wei)星(xing)等(deng)太(tai)空(kong)垃(la)圾(ji)全(quan)部(bu)標(biao)記(ji)出(chu)來(lai),我(wo)們(men)將(jiang)會(hui)看(kan)到(dao)一(yi)幅(fu)非(fei)常(chang)震(zhen)撼(han)的(de)畫(hua)麵(mian):地球已經被密密麻麻的太空垃圾包裹。
在這些太空垃圾中,既有小到需要以毫米計算的碎片,如航天器外部因強烈的紫外線照射而脫落的油漆碎片等;也有長數米、重數噸的大型物體,如失效衛星、太陽能電池板等。
在太空垃圾的數量分布上,存在著體積越小、數(shu)量(liang)越(yue)多(duo)的(de)規(gui)律(lv)。由(you)於(yu)不(bu)同(tong)機(ji)構(gou)的(de)統(tong)計(ji)方(fang)法(fa)並(bing)不(bu)一(yi)致(zhi),國(guo)際(ji)航(hang)天(tian)界(jie)對(dui)於(yu)空(kong)間(jian)軌(gui)道(dao)中(zhong)存(cun)在(zai)的(de)太(tai)空(kong)垃(la)圾(ji)總(zong)量(liang)尚(shang)無(wu)準(zhun)確(que)定(ding)論(lun)。但(dan)大(da)致(zhi)可(ke)以(yi)確(que)定(ding),目(mu)前(qian)空(kong)間(jian)軌(gui)道(dao)中(zhong)直(zhi)徑(jing)在(zai)10厘米以上的太空垃圾不少於2萬個,直徑在1厘米以上、10厘米以下的太空垃圾則有數十萬個,直徑小於1厘米的則可能達到上億個。
數量如此龐大的太空垃圾是有人故意亂扔的嗎?答案當然是否定的。雖然國際空間站曾多次丟棄過氨罐、相機腳架等,甚至還於2021年扔出過一塊重約2.5dundejiutaiyangnengdianchiban,danzhexiewutizaiduanzanraodiqiuxuanzhuanhoubianhuiluorudiqiudaqi,bingzaidaqizhongranshaodaijin,yincibingbuhuichengweichangqizaiguidetaikonglaji。
國guo際ji宇yu航hang聯lian空kong間jian運yun輸shu委wei員yuan會hui副fu主zhu席xi楊yang宇yu光guang告gao訴su科ke技ji日ri報bao記ji者zhe,事shi實shi上shang,除chu了le少shao數shu因yin達da到dao使shi用yong壽shou命ming或huo因yin為wei故gu障zhang而er失shi效xiao的de衛wei星xing等deng航hang天tian器qi外wai,大da多duo數shu太tai空kong垃la圾ji,尤you其qi是shi數shu量liang巨ju大da但dan體ti積ji微wei小xiao的de碎sui片pian垃la圾ji,主zhu要yao是shi由you失shi效xiao航hang天tian器qi解jie體ti或huo太tai空kong垃la圾ji之zhi間jian碰peng撞zhuang造zao成cheng的de。“失效航天器、大碎片解體或碰撞後會形成大量小碎片,小碎片之間還可能會繼續發生碰撞,產生數量更多、體積更小的碎片。”楊宇光說,於是在一次次解體或碰撞中,大量太空垃圾被製造出來。
除了體積和數量之間存在相關關係,太空垃圾在軌道分布上也有一定規律。楊宇光表示,軌道高度在500—1000公裏的區域是太空垃圾的“重災區”,“首shou先xian這zhe個ge範fan圍wei內nei過guo去qu存cun在zai著zhe大da量liang衛wei星xing,互hu相xiang之zhi間jian發fa生sheng碰peng撞zhuang的de可ke能neng性xing較jiao大da。其qi次ci是shi這zhe一yi範fan圍wei內nei大da氣qi十shi分fen稀xi薄bo,物wu體ti繞rao地di球qiu旋xuan轉zhuan的de速su度du下xia降jiang緩huan慢man,因yin此ci在zai短duan時shi間jian內nei很hen難nan脫tuo離li原yuan軌gui道dao,墜zhui入ru大da氣qi。”而在軌道高度300—400公(gong)裏(li)區(qu)域(yu),雖(sui)然(ran)也(ye)曾(zeng)發(fa)射(she)有(you)大(da)量(liang)衛(wei)星(xing),但(dan)該(gai)區(qu)域(yu)內(nei)大(da)氣(qi)密(mi)度(du)較(jiao)高(gao),太(tai)空(kong)垃(la)圾(ji)會(hui)在(zai)相(xiang)對(dui)較(jiao)短(duan)的(de)時(shi)間(jian)內(nei)受(shou)大(da)氣(qi)阻(zu)力(li)影(ying)響(xiang)降(jiang)低(di)高(gao)度(du),最(zui)後(hou)落(luo)入(ru)大(da)氣(qi)中(zhong)燒(shao)毀(hui)。
將太空垃圾登記在冊進行追蹤管理

區(qu)別(bie)於(yu)傳(chuan)統(tong)的(de)有(you)源(yuan)雷(lei)達(da),不(bu)久(jiu)前(qian),澳(ao)大(da)利(li)亞(ya)媒(mei)體(ti)報(bao)道(dao)了(le)一(yi)種(zhong)監(jian)測(ce)太(tai)空(kong)垃(la)圾(ji)的(de)新(xin)方(fang)法(fa),利(li)用(yong)的(de)卻(que)是(shi)無(wu)源(yuan)雷(lei)達(da)。無(wu)源(yuan)雷(lei)達(da)自(zi)身(shen)不(bu)需(xu)要(yao)發(fa)射(she)機(ji)來(lai)發(fa)射(she)電(dian)磁(ci)波(bo),主(zhu)要(yao)依(yi)靠(kao)接(jie)收(shou)他(ta)源(yuan)反(fan)射(she)的(de)微(wei)波(bo)能(neng)量(liang)來(lai)對(dui)目(mu)標(biao)進(jin)行(xing)探(tan)測(ce),通(tong)常(chang)擁(yong)有(you)更(geng)高(gao)的(de)靈(ling)敏(min)度(du)。由(you)於(yu)地(di)球(qiu)上(shang)每(mei)時(shi)每(mei)刻(ke)都(dou)在(zai)向(xiang)太(tai)空(kong)中(zhong)發(fa)射(she)大(da)量(liang)無(wu)線(xian)電(dian)波(bo),其(qi)中(zhong)一(yi)部(bu)分(fen)便(bian)會(hui)被(bei)太(tai)空(kong)垃(la)圾(ji)反(fan)射(she)回(hui)地(di)麵(mian),進(jin)而(er)被(bei)無(wu)源(yuan)雷(lei)達(da)接(jie)收(shou)到(dao),實(shi)現(xian)對(dui)太(tai)空(kong)垃(la)圾(ji)的(de)監(jian)測(ce)。楊(yang)宇(yu)光(guang)表(biao)示(shi),該(gai)方(fang)法(fa)理(li)論(lun)上(shang)或(huo)許(xu)可(ke)行(xing),但(dan)實(shi)際(ji)應(ying)用(yong)效(xiao)果(guo)如(ru)何(he)仍(reng)需(xu)進(jin)一(yi)步(bu)了(le)解(jie)觀(guan)察(cha)。

成本問題製約太空垃圾治理

楊(yang)宇(yu)光(guang)給(gei)出(chu)了(le)他(ta)認(ren)為(wei)未(wei)來(lai)處(chu)理(li)太(tai)空(kong)垃(la)圾(ji)可(ke)能(neng)行(xing)之(zhi)有(you)效(xiao)的(de)辦(ban)法(fa),首(shou)先(xian)要(yao)區(qu)分(fen)太(tai)空(kong)垃(la)圾(ji)所(suo)處(chu)的(de)軌(gui)道(dao)高(gao)低(di)和(he)體(ti)積(ji)大(da)小(xiao),有(you)針(zhen)對(dui)性(xing)地(di)采(cai)取(qu)不(bu)同(tong)手(shou)段(duan)。由(you)於(yu)空(kong)間(jian)物(wu)體(ti)繞(rao)地(di)球(qiu)運(yun)行(xing)的(de)軌(gui)道(dao)高(gao)度(du)與(yu)其(qi)環(huan)繞(rao)速(su)度(du)有(you)關(guan),當(dang)其(qi)速(su)度(du)降(jiang)低(di)後(hou),其(qi)所(suo)能(neng)維(wei)持(chi)的(de)軌(gui)道(dao)高(gao)度(du)便(bian)會(hui)降(jiang)低(di),因(yin)此(ci)軌(gui)道(dao)高(gao)度(du)特(te)別(bie)低(di)的(de)太(tai)空(kong)垃(la)圾(ji)無(wu)須(xu)進(jin)行(xing)過(guo)多(duo)幹(gan)預(yu),其(qi)受(shou)到(dao)外(wai)層(ceng)大(da)氣(qi)阻(zu)力(li)後(hou)會(hui)逐(zhu)漸(jian)降(jiang)低(di)速(su)度(du),最(zui)後(hou)自(zi)主(zhu)墜(zhui)入(ru)大(da)氣(qi),燃(ran)燒(shao)殆(dai)盡(jin)。
而(er)對(dui)處(chu)於(yu)低(di)軌(gui)道(dao)上(shang)部(bu)且(qie)體(ti)積(ji)較(jiao)小(xiao)的(de)太(tai)空(kong)垃(la)圾(ji)來(lai)說(shuo),楊(yang)宇(yu)光(guang)認(ren)為(wei)可(ke)以(yi)將(jiang)攜(xie)帶(dai)半(ban)導(dao)體(ti)激(ji)光(guang)器(qi)的(de)衛(wei)星(xing)發(fa)射(she)到(dao)太(tai)空(kong)中(zhong),對(dui)體(ti)積(ji)較(jiao)小(xiao)的(de)太(tai)空(kong)垃(la)圾(ji)進(jin)行(xing)照(zhao)射(she),高(gao)能(neng)量(liang)激(ji)光(guang)會(hui)將(jiang)垃(la)圾(ji)部(bu)分(fen)氣(qi)化(hua),蒸(zheng)氣(qi)的(de)反(fan)作(zuo)用(yong)力(li)會(hui)減(jian)小(xiao)其(qi)運(yun)行(xing)速(su)度(du),從(cong)而(er)縮(suo)短(duan)墜(zhui)落(luo)時(shi)間(jian)。“假jia如ru這zhe顆ke衛wei星xing可ke以yi繞rao地di球qiu旋xuan轉zhuan相xiang當dang長chang的de時shi間jian,那na麼me隻zhi要yao它ta與yu太tai空kong垃la圾ji擦ca肩jian而er過guo,就jiu可ke以yi對dui其qi進jin行xing照zhao射she。雖sui然ran一yi次ci照zhao射she的de作zuo用yong可ke能neng微wei乎hu其qi微wei,但dan若ruo能neng反fan複fu多duo次ci照zhao射she,將jiang會hui產chan生sheng顯xian著zhu作zuo用yong。”yangyuguangbuchongdao,bingqiebandaotijiguangbuyilaihuaxueranliao,zhixuyaokaoweixingdetaiyangnengdianchibantigongdianlibiankechangjiufahuizuoyong。erduiyutijijiaodadetaikonglaji,youyuqibenshenshuliangjiaoshao,yincipaichuhangtianqiduiqijinxingbuzhuoqingchuhuoxushikexingdefanganzhiyi。
